Sulfadiazine is a sulfa drug used primarily to treat bacterial infections. Its mechanism of action is to inhibit the dihydrofolate
synthase in bacteria.
Sulfadiazine is commonly used to treat infections caused by sensitive bacteria such as urinary tract infections, diarrhea,
conjunctivitis, bronchitis, and acute cholecystitis.
