Posaconazole is a broad-spectrum antifungal drug primarily used to treat infections caused by fungi, especially those that are resistant to other antifungal drugs.
Posaconazole can be used to treat a variety of fungal infections such as invasive aspergillosis, cryptococcosis, and candidiasis.
Posaconazole is usually used in patients who are refractory to or intolerant to other antifungal drugs or to prevent fungal infections in high-risk patients. It can be administered orally or intravenously.
The main mechanism of action of Posaconazole is to prevent the growth and reproduction of fungi by inhibiting fungal cell membrane synthesis.

Posaconazole is indicated for patients with invasive aspergillosis that is refractory to amphotericin B or itraconazole or who are intolerant to treatment with these drugs.
