An extract of Evodia fruit in the presence of NADPH was shown to inhibit human liver microsomal erythromycin N-demethylation activity (CYP3A4) (Iwata et al., 2005). Further it was shown that the components of Evodia fruit extract have pre-incubation time dependent inhibitory effects on CYP3A4.
